I believe that Morgellons disease is more of a delusion than a disease. I think people always want something to be wrong with them so they can have any excuse to get out of doing tasks. Jamison’s story makes a valid point after attending some of the meetings about Morgellons disease showing how she truly feels bad for these people. I am being asked to believe that the people with this disease are struggling and truly need help even if their symptoms are not real. The author offers examples of real people that she had talked to in order to gain an understanding or an empathy towards people with this disease. She says how its hard to give empathy to the person because you cannot see any injury or harm, only the pain the person talks about.
